1. Who we are

This privacy policy applies to the ActivRescue mobile application (the “patient app”), which lets you request emergency ambulance or medical transport. The app is operated by [Your Company Name] (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using ActivRescue, you agree to this policy.

2. Data we collect

We collect the following data, which is linked to your account and identity:

  • Contact information: Email, first and last name, display name, phone number, and country code (for account creation, sign-in, profile, and support).
  • Precise location: GPS coordinates for pickup and dropoff when you request emergency or transport, and during active trips for live tracking. This is necessary to dispatch and guide responders.
  • Health-related information: Triage answers you provide during emergency requests (e.g. whether the person is awake and breathing, presence of certain symptoms, possible trauma, patient age group). This is used only to help medics prepare and is not used for advertising or unrelated purposes.
  • Payment information: When you add a payment method (e.g. via Paystack), we store a reference and limited details (e.g. last four digits, brand) linked to your account to manage payments for transport services.
  • Identifiers: User and request IDs, and session tokens, to operate your account and requests.
  • Voice: If you use in-app voice calls with medics or drivers, audio is transmitted in real time to complete the trip; we do not store recordings.
  • Biometrics (optional): If you enable sign-in with Face ID or Touch ID, biometric data stays on your device and is not sent to us.

3. How we use your data

We use the data above to:

  • Create and manage your account, and display your profile (including name) in the app.
  • Process emergency and transport requests, share your location with medics and drivers, and support live tracking.
  • Share triage and incident information with responding medics so they know what to expect.
  • Process payments and manage saved payment methods.
  • Provide in-app voice communication with medics or drivers when you use that feature.
  • Comply with law, prevent fraud, and protect security.

We do not use your data for advertising or sell your personal information to third parties for marketing.

4. Third parties

We may share or use services that process data on our behalf:

  • Payment processing: Payment details are handled by our payment provider (e.g. Paystack); they may receive information needed to process transactions (e.g. amount, reference, and in some cases name) in accordance with their privacy policy.
  • Email: We may use an email service to send verification and transactional emails; that provider may process your email address and name as necessary to deliver messages.
  • Maps and addresses: If you use address search or maps in the app, relevant queries or coordinates may be sent to the map/places provider (e.g. Google) in accordance with their terms and privacy policy.

Responding medics and drivers see information necessary to perform the trip (e.g. pickup/dropoff location, triage summary); they are bound by operational and confidentiality requirements.

5. Data linked to your identity

All data we collect through ActivRescue is linked to your identity via your account. We do not de-identify or anonymize it before collection. This is required to provide your requests, dispatch, payments, and support.

6. Security and retention

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit and at rest. We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with law, and resolve disputes.

7. Your rights

8. Changes
